    Bartender

    We are looking for a Bartender whose responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for tasks outside the scope of work described.

    Meeru Island is located in North Male’ Atoll accessible via boat from the International Airport. The island features 284 rooms, four large F&B outlets, extensive water sports, diving facilities as well as a large fleet of vessels. This beautiful island was one of the first resorts in the Maldives and offers a vibrant and rich heritage; it is Simply Maldives.

     

    You’re Responsibilities:

    • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet. Responsible for checking daily requisitions to ensure what is received is correct.
    • To have full knowledge of current promotions.
    • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
    • To report and manage guests requests, complaints efficiently, and ensuring Supervisor and Outlet Manager are informed
    • To familiarize oneself with all long-term and regular guests and special/VIP guests.
    • To have full knowledge of all food and beverage products available throughout the Food & Beverage outlets to recommend and up-sell to guests.

    Our Requirements:

    • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High school diploma preferred.
    • Minimum 1 year previous Hotel bartending experience required.
    • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and knowledge of mixing and preparing various alcoholic beverages and cocktails.
    • Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions.
    • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
    • Ability to work in confined spaces for long periods of time
    • To be fully aware of working practices within Health, Safety and Food Hygiene guidelines.
