    Island Host (Chinese Speaking)

    The 90-villa, adults-only luxury resort.  A renowned culinary hotspot offering epic culinary journeys, which include the largest all-glass underwater restaurant, 5.8 Undersea Restaurant We promote a culture of happiness for the well-being of our team members through their employee journey. We also provide our team members with accommodation, food, laundry services, team shop and other indoor & out activities such as team pool, gym, paddles, tennis, badminton, billiards etc., that make your job perform the most.

    You ‘re Responsibilities:

    To liaise directly with guests to ensure their wellbeing, comfort, satisfaction and that perfection of service is attained. Liaise with all Departments on all guest welfare matters and to ensure that a smooth, courteous and efficient service is provided to the standards laid down by the Management.

    • Reports directly to and communicates with the Guest Services Manager / Island Hosts Team Leader on all pertinent matters affecting Resort Hosts operations.
    • Cooperates, coordinates and communicates with other departments, as required.
    • Contribute to the moral and team spirit of the resort by maintaining good relationships with colleagues.
    • Perform any additional duties or special projects as directed by the Resort Management.
    • Be fully conversant with all health & safety, fire and emergency procedures of the resort and airport (TMA)
    • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform and body language
    • Be polite and professional in any situation where the image of the resort is represented
    • Ensure that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically and within the parameters of the Maldivian law.
    • An Island host is required to adhere to the standards laid down in regards to punctuality, performance, attitude, team work, guest relations, staff relations, observance of resort rules, and loyalty to the Management and interdepartmental co-operation.
    • To use discretion and tact when dealing with guest inquiries, problems or complaints in an efficient and professional manner without detriment to the resort and/or its reputation.
    • To ensure that all necessary reports, like arrival list, manifest, VIP list & etc is available
    • To welcome the guest on the jetty upon arrival, with drums.
    • To arrange the Resort Taxi from the Main Reception to the respective Resort.
    • Ensure that cold face towel, welcome drink and Registration card and all necessary information is organized to guarantee a smooth fast check-in.
    • Encourage all guests to write down their complete contact details and e-mail address on Registration card and to assist them during the Registration Card filling.
    • To introduce respective Resort facilities to the guest, their allocated Restaurant, Bar, Spa, etc.
    • To escort the guest to their allocated Villa upon arrival.
    • The island host must use the welcome speech, which has been provided and must make use of the Room orientation up to Resort standards, which has been issued and clarified.
    • To ensure that the guest receive two courtesy call per week by the allocated Island Host.
    • The Island host must be aware of the names of his guests and must use those names while meeting them at any time.
    • Assist the guest with restaurant table reservations, excursion arrangements, special and individual arrangements or requests.
    • To assist in all guest requests
    • To do room inspection prior to guest arrival and spot checks during the guests stay. To be in close contact with the HSK, RS and Engineering department to be able to follow up on guests needs.
    • To handle guest complaints and update the profile history in the Opera.
    • To prepare guest arrival letters, departure letters.
    • Be responsible for the Registration card updating the profile in the Opera of their allocated guests.
    • To be fully conversant with all activities within the hotel in order to be able to inform guests correctly and make recommendations.
    • To be personally in contact with as many guests as possible and minimize non-work related staff contact during work hours.
    • Perform any other jobs related to duties assigned by the management.
    • To be fully trained and updated in emergency procedures.
    • To wear uniform during working hours and maintain a positive presence in guest areas.

    Our Requirements:

    • Completed Butler Service Training is highly preferred / related field or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities, Expert in Opera, Outlook and MS Office Suite
    • Fluent in Arabic & English language, additional language will be a plus
    • At least Three years’ previous experience the same role in a similar environment required
    • Must maintain a neat, personal hygiene, clean and well-groomed (Specific standards available)
